A 220 meter long tunnel for the Gilboa Mountains’ pumped storage project. This work was carried out by TLG along a very problematic route with unstable clay soil and very dangerous water pressure at the excavating face, which meant moving forward very carefully with special emphasis on maximum safety. During this complex tunneling work, it was necessary to use all the available modern tunneling techniques, including Umbrella of pipes, soil nailing ,fiberglass bolts, drainages for the water pressure, the installation of steel meshes, shotcreting, monitoring etc. The work was executed 24/7 over a period of a year and it was completed on time.
