Pipe jacking work on a drainage channel at the Midtown Tel Aviv project was halted because it was causing sinking and there was reason to suspect there would be further, critical sinking of the rail tracks along the Ayalon River Bed route. The Lipsker &Co. Company carried out drilling and injected cement grouting into the soil in the area of the rail tracks to ensure their stability and prevent any possible further sinking during the completion of the pipe jacking work.

It was vital to avoid halting railway traffic and so a large team comprising dozens of employees, work managers and engineers was put together to carry out this complex task and manage the two shifts working round the clock. The work had to be carried out with great care because of the two problems: On the one hand, the drilling equipment and the injection process had to avoid any physical damage to the rail track. On the other hand, it was vital to prevent any lifting of the track during injection. The work progressed under constant, close monitoring of subsidence by Israel Railways personnel. The Company completed this work successfully and the pipe jacking work was completed to the satisfaction of the customer – Electra Construction Ltd.
